The History of Holland Electric
In 1954, William H. Holland and John Hopkins started an electrical service business called Hopkins & Holland in Wakefield, Rhode Island. Prior to starting the business, both William and John were supervisors at the Peace Dale Mill and were responsible for the electrical installations and power for the whole mill.
After John’s death in 1967, William H. Holland continued as William H. Holland Electrical Contractor. Richard C. “Rick” Holland, who had been working for his dad during the summers, became a full-time employee in 1968 after he finished military service.
In 1972 the company was incorporated as W.H. Holland Electric, Inc. Tragically, William H. Holland died that year, and Rick Holland officially became president in 1973.
Today, Rick still operates the company bringing over 46 years of experience. In addition, many of the current employees have over 20 years experience.
